Proverbs 12:25 – Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.
Anxiety’s fear and apprehension can feel like the “weight of the world” is on your shoulders. It could be caused by a loss of a job, or the hint that you might be fired or let go. Why do they say, “Let go”? It’s more like they’re pushing you out the door. Sometimes the “weight of the world” is being out of sorts with an adult child. They have their busy lives and you understand that, but if they stop talking to you and don’t show signs of wanting to see you, it truly can be the “weight of the world” that’s come down on you. Show them love in whatever way you can and God will help you through the “silent season.” A few kind words from someone will bring hope and a healing balm to the soul. And, even if a friend says nothing and just sits with you, it can encourage and bring you hope.
