Job 12:13 - To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his.
Failure. You keep making mistake after mistake and tumble down into the rabbit hole of discouragement and despair. Sometimes you make mistakes because you’re trying to finish a task too quickly. This may cause you to have to start from scratch and try again. I have found though, that having to start over doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Your mind can be freed up to see things from a different perspective. And if you’re mind seems stuck, perhaps you can step away from the project and use your mind for something else. Take a moment to pray and ask God for strength and wisdom. Then, when you come back to your project, you may find ideas flooding in and you finally finish the task.
1 Corinthians 2:3 - I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling.
You tried to do something simple, but your body was too weak to complete the task. You get angry. You feel like a failure. You feel weak and feeble. All you can think about is how you let everyone down. If you want to change your mood, you need to change what you’re thinking. Your weakness can be turned into your strength. You’re failure can be turned around to a place where you can learn to do life differently. Your anger can be turned into a feeling of fulfillment as you share your story with someone else who needs encouragement in their weakness. Try to focus on what you can do. It’s okay if you need to ask someone else to complete the task you were trying to do. Maybe it could be an open door to developing stronger relationships with others. Do you ever feel like a failure when your body is weak and unable to complete a task? Do you believe you’re always letting everyone down? Let’s see if we can turn that around. Join the discussion.
Psalm 40:12 - For troubles without number surround me; my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see. They are more than the hairs of my head, and my heart fails within me.
Failure. You keep making mistake after mistake and tumble down into the rabbit hole of discouragement and despair. However, what you may think is a failure God takes and turns into a beautiful bouquet of flowers. God makes all things new. Even failures. Do you ever feel like a failure? If so, do you believe God can make all things new? I’d love to hear from you.
1 Samuel 2:6 - The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up.
Fear of failure plagues those who struggle with pain. Because we can’t keep up with life the way we used to it can feel like we’re letting everyone down. But what really moves the scale toward failure isn’t what others think of us, but what we think about us. The only time you really fail is when you give up on yourself. What we’re going through doesn’t have to be a death sentence. It can give us a new purpose in life by reaching out to show the world that life can go on even when you’re living in pain. Do you struggle with fear of failure? Come and join the discussion.
