Proverbs 12:26 – The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray. Feeling like an island is common for those who battle physical and emotional pain. Thankfully though, when we’re in a bad place, a good friend will help lift us up. Friends encourage us to find a new perspective on a situation or simply just be there for us. God places these key people in our paths to catch us when we fall and lend a helping hand. Friends help meet our emotional needs when we are suffering. And as wonderful as it is to receive that help, it is up to those in pain as well to reach out their hands to strengthen the one who strengthens them. We’re not in this alone, because we all reach a point in our life when we are in need. Together we can meet the challenges of our daily journeys.
