Psalm 38:4 - My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. Guilt can be a heavy weight for those of us who suffer from chronic pain and illnesses. Someone else has to pick up the slack we can’t carry. And usually it’s our family. How do I combat not only my guilty feelings, but also keep my family from feeling resentful? Express my gratitude more often. Even in the small things. Gratitude can lift off our cloak of guilt and uplift our family’s hearts. Do you have feelings of guilt because of your pain? What have you done that’s helped your family see you’re grateful for their help?
