Psalm 10:17 - You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry.
Do you ever have a deep sorrow inside your heart? I’m sure we all have. Do you ever have something on your mind you want to talk about, but don’t know who to trust? Yes, you’ve probably experienced that as well. I’m so glad that when we feel vulnerable to share our inner secrets that there is someone who will hold us close and listen – God. He will never think less of us. He loves those who trust him enough to tell him anything. He can take it. He is strong enough to handle our sorrows, whatever is on our minds and inner secrets. I find this a comfort, because there are things that have happened in the past that sometimes leak into my present. I can keep what I’m feeling to myself and see my stress and pain level go up; or, I can share what God already knows is in my heart. But even though he knows what’s happened, he still loves to hear from us and talk to him from the deepest places of our hearts.
