Psalm 92:12, 13 - The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. Some days it seems that all I can do is take care of my needs and beyond that just push through. On those days, I only tackle what has to be done. But we weren’t meant to spend our life in survival mode. We were meant to flourish. Even when we’re at the deepest valley of pain, we can pick up the phone; write an email, Facebook or text someone. You can be guaranteed that your recipient has needs in their life to and would be encouraged by your call or correspondence. Funny thing is, we started by just trying to push through, but we find out as we’re encouraging someone else, that it feel good to do so. That, my friend, is what it means to flourish, and when we flourish it makes God smile. Do you ever feel like all you can do is push through? Do you have trouble flourishing instead of spending your day only in survival mode? I’d love to hear from you.
