Matthew 7: 26, 27 - But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. When the rain comes down, stream rises, and the wind beats against your life, know that God can help you build a strong foundation. He knows the way through the storm to shore. But it means we have to give up the captain’s chair and allow him to drive the boat. Have you ever been capsized by decisions you made without checking with your captain first? I know I have. Yet, giving up controlling your life will result in more peace and less anxiety. And once you take that step of faith by taking your hand off the wheel, God will sail your boat to a quiet cove where you can get out of the boat and build your home on a solid rock.
