Proverbs 23:18 - There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. Dreams. There are those that you wake up in the morning with tears in your eyes from the horrible nightmare you just had.
But there are other dreams that don’t just happen while we’re asleep, but when we march into a new day. They’re the dreams that propel us into a direction of hope and promise. Those of us who suffer from emotional pain or loss, at times can only see the darkness of dreams cut short. Maybe a loved one passed away and carried with them any hope you can see in the future. Perhaps you stopped dreaming a long time ago, because life is a dead end. Promises were broken. Hope was stomped out like a cigarette thrust to the ground and ground into the pavement. At what point did you stop believing in your dreams? Can you believe that there is still some hope for your future? Without a dream, a direction, a calling you will go nowhere. Oh you might be able to function doing your job or just survive another pain flare-up. But still, you’ll be dead inside. So what can we do to bring back hope and promise into our lives? Here are some ideas from wikihow.com in their article, “How to Have Hope,” such as consider whether you have realistic or unrealistic expectations for your life. While working hard at the suggestions given in the article, believe as the Bible verse above states, that God has hope for you just ahead. You just have to walk into it even if the way doesn’t seem clear now. |
